SwingTime Music is a jazz combo headed by drummer John Lombardo and based in Madison, Wisconsin. The group provides fun, danceable music for any occasion from in-home parties to wedding receptions to corporate or fund-raising events. You will recognize jazz standards, as well as adapted pop tunes from the fifties, sixties and seventies. Familiar tunes, like “Satin Doll”, “Take the A Train”, “Girl From Ipanema”, and “Shadow of Your Smile” bring back the glamour of the swing era and jazz greats such as Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Cole Porter. Highlights from the classic rock and pop songs of the sixties and seventies revive the excitement of hits like “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy,” “I Feel Good,” "I Saw Her Standing There," and “Proud Mary.” Swingtime Music can handle most requests on the spot, and will prepare your favorites in advance. SwingTime Music is uniquely adaptable to your event, venue, and budget. The group can consist of three to five pieces. An acoustic piano-bass-drums group is perfect for intimate settings, and allows for conversation even close to the band. We'll add soloists such as a vocalist, horn or guitar player to fit the occasion. If the event calls for a little more volume, amplification will be used tastefully.
